HO HO HO!

Christmas time is coming… my absolute favorite holiday! Yesterday, I had my second visit from little miss Parker at 3 and a half months to take a few photos for the season :)  This little sweetheart was so stubborn! I was using every tool and tactic I could think of and could not get her gorgeous smile to come out in front of the camera. I thought we might just have to give up (and I don’t give up easily!), when Grandpa came to the rescue! This first shot is one of the last shots we took and thanks to Grandpa… and an honest effort from Parker’s mom and myself, we managed to get that gorgeous smile!!! Thankfully, the expressions in many of the other shots are gorgeous as well, but in a whole different way! I just adore the looks I get from babies when I am making a fool of myself in front of their parents. I definitely got some priceless looks here as you can see – I think it’s hilarious!

Thanks Carrie, for bringing your little precious bundle out to see me again. I can’t believe how fast she is growing! Enjoy this little sneak peak and I’ll be in touch with the rest soon!

Watching them grow…

One of the very best parts of my job is getting to watch families grow. I photographed Amber and Dan’s wedding back in….. Gosh! I think it was 2006…? Time flies! In 2007, I had the chance to take newborn pictures of little Hannah, and I have since been able to capture their family in the Fall of 2008, and again yesterday!

Brianne, Dan’s sister, was a part of Amber and Dan’s wedding as well. I was so blessed to have Brianne visit me earlier this year with her newborn baby boy, Hunter! I had the chance to get some updated shots of this gorgeous little boy again yesterday and my, how he has grown!

In this post, I felt I just had to put something together to show the growing families! Hannah and Hunter were wonderful to photograph yesterday and we managed to capture some absolutely adorable shots… Hannah played a bit hard to get initially, but boy – she sure did come around! Amber and Dan have been such amazing clients over the past 4 years and they continue to refer me business. I am SOOO thankful to you guys for this and for you continuing to come back to me time and time again. I LOVE seeing you guys and watching your family grow! I can’t wait to see this whole bunch again next year!

Here are a couple of composites to get a peak at how these families have grown… and then the preview of some of the shots we took yesterday in my studio :) Enjoy!

I met Miranda and Nishant at the school that they teach at in Brantford, W. Ross McDonald. There is a beautiful park at the school and I was impressed with the variety of spots to work with there. When Miranda mentioned that they were thinking about taking their engagement pictures at the school that they work at, I must admit I was a bit curious, but I’m always up for new locations and something a bit different, so I was definitely in! Once I arrived and saw how beautiful it was there I totally understood why they chose this spot :)

I have to admit that I got off to a bit of a rocky start on Thursday. I am still a bit embarrassed of making a fool of myself – this is how it began!

“So, did you guys meet through working together here?” I asked. Miranda replied, “We met through working on a cruise line together.” ” Oh, that’s cool!” I said, as I scouted the area for our next shoot spot. We found our next spot and I asked, “So, how did you guys meet?” (oh yes I did!)… Nishant and Miranda paused and looked at each other (likely thinking uhhh… we just told you crazy lady!) and Nishant replied, “Well, we worked on Cruise Lines……” OMGoodness, and I realized I’m an idiot!… Off to great start, and I honestly have no idea where my head was Thursday afternoon, but Miranda and Nishant were fantastic and we recovered from my air-headedness (I’m pretty sure that is not even a word!) quickly. I’m SO sorry guys!

I have to give a huge pat on the back to Nishant for getting through this shoot with absolutely no complaints as he is recovering from the flu! It was quite funny actually because Miranda mentioned that she had been able to avoid the bug and that she had just been trying to keep her distance as much as possible. Well, I  kept asking them to kiss throughout our session LOL! There was a slight hesitation, but as you can see… there was definitely some kissing contact :)  Now that is true love!   Oh… Miranda, I hope you don’t get sick because I know I will be to blame!

Thanks for everything guys! Here is your sneak peak!

We are a bit behind in our blog posts right now, but I plan to be caught up with these by tomorrow, so if you are awaiting your preview right now, please be patient…. they  are on the way :)  October has been just full of activity with engagement shoots, family shoots, weddings and so on. We are doing our best to keep on top of things, but are not quite as prompt as usual right now.

Here is the first of a few posts that will be posted today… Tracy will be shooting Morgan and Stephanie’s wedding next year in June. She had an absolute blast with these two in Eramosa Karst park in Hamilton this past week taking their engagement pictures… it looks like it was a fun shoot and a great location. Congratulations on your engagement Stephanie and Morgan! Here is a sneak peak at your engagement shoot…

Simply The Sweetest!

I met Kevin & Stephanie in August at Kevin’s brother’s wedding. I recall chatting with Stephanie briefly during the reception about their upcoming wedding in June 0f 2010. she mentioned they still had a lot to plan, but that the hall was booked, so at least the date was set. When Stephanie called after the wedding and asked me if I would be able to shoot their wedding in June my heart just broke… I wanted to shoot this wedding so badly, but was already booked with another on that date. What a bummer!! I’m telling you, the photographer that gets to shoot this wedding is so lucky because these guys are just the sweetest together. Kevin’s monkeying around  and up for anything attitude, mixed in with Stephanie’s constant smile and calm demeanor seems to mesh them together in such a unique and beautiful way. Beyond that, these are two really good people… you can just tell. There is something magnetic and joyful about being around them.

After only 3 months of dating, Kevin and Stephanie knew that this was it… this is the person they would spend their life with! They were engaged and 2 years later they will marry and begin an incredible life together that is certain to be filled with joys, laughter, dreams and lots of love. I just love hearing about how people meet and come to find each other and I loved their story. I truly believe that you both have such wonderful futures ahead of you. I admire you for your commitment to each other, but I think even more-so for your commitment to helping others. You guys are an inspiration and I feel very lucky that I have had the chance to get to know you both a bit better during our engagement shoot… we will definitely have to stay in touch!  Thank you so much Stephanie & Kevin… here’s your peak!

Battle of the Blades….

Okay, so I tried and tried, but I just couldn’t resist naming this post “Battle of the Blades” since this new reality show was brought up on several occasions during our photo shoot on Sunday. I mean, come-on…. we even practiced the moves and everything. I think you two are definitely contenders for next season’s show LOL! Apparently, this is a show where hockey players and figure skaters get paired up and compete… sounds hilarious actually :)  In all seriousness though, I actually did have Karen and Laird do a few figure-skating moves during this shoot, but hey, if it works – it works!

We started off at Karen’s family’s farm in Turkey Point. With 290ish acres to work with, there were lots of possibilities. The beautiful Fall backdrops and the ‘asparagus’ field were perfect. You know, we thought about a corn field, but that is soooo last year… this year the trend is all about asparagus, trust me! Loving this farm and loving the colours and landscape it offered us! Karen and Laird’s sarcastic sense of humor kept me laughing right into the sunset on the beach. That’s right, we travelled onward to the beach too, cuz when your in Turkey Point you just gotta go to the beach , right?

Had a great afternoon with you both and actually kind of forgot that I was working, as it felt more like I was just hanging out with friends (I actually think I might have left my step stool in your car too – WHOOPS!) . I think you are both just hilarious and so much fun! Your wedding is going to be S-W-E-E-T! Can’t wait for it actually. Enjoy this little preview and we’ll be in touch soon.

The Wilson’s

A few years back I was so blessed to meet Tricia & Craig when I photographed their engagement and wedding day. I really, really, really love this couple! So, I was so excited when Tricia emailed me about a year ago to tell me they had a little one on the way. When there little bundle, Alannah, arrived on Valentine’s Day, I couldn’t wait to meet her. Finally, on Sunday October 25th I met little Alannah at Webster’s Falls. She is an absolutely stunning little girl with the most gorgeous blue eyes! I just love those eyes…

Tricia and Craig are two of the most wonderful people you would ever meet. Both are so genuinely nice and happy… I don’ think I’ve ever seen them without a smile on their face! So, then I meet their little girl and she is seriously one of the most easy going and babies ever! Just as sweet as can be and the perfect piece of the pie to complete the Wilson family (for now anyway hehe).

Tricia and Craig, I hope you know how thankful I am to have met you both and to have been included in some of your most precious moments in life. You are both so wonderful and I feel very blessed to have been able to share in your lives. Alannah is an absolute doll… I’m so lucky to have had the chance to take her pictures! Here is a little peak at a few moments we captured, but this is just a peak… there are TONS more to come!

To Wed in June 2010…

Lauren & Dan will tie the know this coming Spring on June 10th, 2010! This gorgeous couple had their engagement pictures in taken in Townsend and just outside of Jarvis this past weekend with the beautiful Fall colours. Sunday was just the perfect day for taking shooting. The temperature was mild, the sun was shining, the skies were blue…. then you throw in a couple like this and, VOILA… it’s perfection :)

Here is your sneak peak Lauren & Dan… many more on the way! This first shot is my favourite for sure… great location just outside of Jarvis on Highway 3!

Sam & Thom were married in Stoney Creek this past weekend. These two are just a great couple and from the first time we met with them they were a total riot… we were laughing so hard we could barely keep our meeting going! I didn’t shoot this wedding myself, but I simply adore these shots. I think you did an absolutely fantastic job T! These guys were up for something different and I think they got it :)

The ceremony was at the Beverly Golf & Country Club, and the pictures were taken at a mix of spots in the area! Congratulations Samantha & Thomas! You guys look stunning on your big day and we are just loving your pictures!!! Enjoy your little preview :)

Now these guys are great sports and really toughed it out yesterday while the winds gusted and the temperature dropped. Although I noticed many goosebumps on the ladies bare arms and heard a few comments about them being a bit chilly, there were never really any big complaints! With 16 of them in total, this wedding party was all ‘GAME ON’ when it came to capturing some outdoor shots of Chris & Lindsay’s wedding day. So first off, I just have to say thank you to this fabulous bunch for being…. well, for being fabulous!

Chris & Lindsay’s wedding has been a long time coming! I’m not sure that I have the exact time frame correct, but I believe that this one is more than 10 years in the making! It seems that Lindsay and Chris are the perfect compliment to each other. They are both fun, funny, easy going… in all honesty, when I first met Chris I thought he seemed to be a bit of a shy guy,  yet I come to find yesterday that he is actually not so shy after all! Amongst his group of buddies, he was actually quite the opposite :)  Although Lindsay and Chris didn’t seem to show signs of nerves before the ceremony, it was obvious how much more relaxed and comfortable they became once they were together – when they were right were they should be.

Lindsay and Chris’s wedding was just what it should be – fun & fantastic. Chad and I had a blast getting to know this bunch… so many laughs throughout the day! I think I was just about in tears at one point from laughing so hard at Melissa trying to jump back into the jump shots. I love my job!

Chris & Lindsay, thank you so much for allowing us to share in your wedding day. You are clearly a perfect match for each other and we are so thrilled to have been there as you (finally) tied the knot and made it official. We laughed most of the ride home last night, just reminiscing about the events of your wedding day! I wish you all the very best for the bright and beautiful future ahead…
