It’s been my little secret for a while now… you know, one of those things I’m always thinking about, but never really say aloud?? This blog of mine has treated me well and WordPress is great, easy to use, works well with SEO and best of all – it’s free! Still, I have to be honest and say that I think that I can do better. So, after much thought and research on what I want my blog to offer, I’ve decided to move. The new blog address will be announced later this week. This blog will still be available for viewing too, but posts will be moving to the new blog after the announcement… It’s bigger and better and I hope you LOVE it! Stay tuned…

Amy & Nate!

Amy and Nate met by chance several years ago when they both attended a summer camp out in Selkirk called Oneida Park. Oddly enough, I only live 15 minutes from Oneida Park and this is the first that I have heard of it. But, when Amy and I were discussing where she and Nathan wanted to have their Engagement Session take place, Oneida Park was the place for them. It’s so fitting that this is the place where these two first met and continued to spend time throughout the years attending. Their enthusiasm about this place still glows in their words… they’re just like a couple of kids talking about one of their favorite places in the world. It’s inspiring, interesting and so sweet.

Oneida Camp was a perfect place to take Amy and Nathan’s engagement pictures. I LOVE when couples choose a spot that has a personal meaning to them and a place that is comfortable in their heart. So beautiful and meaningful. This is just a peak at our session on Monday out in Selkirk. We started off on the grounds and then headed over to the lakefront in Nanticoke. Such a perfect day and so enjoyable to spend some time with Amy & Nate… seriously so pumped for your wedding guys! Thank you for introducing me to this hidden treasure of a place and for letting me share in your memories of growing into each other over the years. Such a pleasure!

I had the priviledge of meeting up with AJ, Tracy & their little man, Mason this weekend to take some family shots in Caledonia. From the moment I saw Mason, he was gleaming… it was so adorable! Mason was just all smiles and so happy. What a joy to be around?! AJ & Tracy were pretty smiley as well and this little family is obviously a very happy one. I met Mason for the first time about a year ago when he was just 2 or 3 weeks old. I always find it so incredible to see how much happens in the first year of life. Mason is now full of energy, walking, not interested in sitting still for more than a second and just brightens everyone’s mood with his gorgeous big smile. There is nothing better than the smile of a child around this age if you ask me. It just warms you right up! You can see it for yourself below.

Sorry this post is a bit late getting up AJ & Tracy. It’s been a whirlwind of a weekend and I haven’t been able to get these up until now. I hope that your little peek is worth your wait and thanks again for giving me the opportunity to work with you both (and Mason too) again!

Goosebumps!

I know it sounds crazy… but I sort of like rainy day weddings. I’m sure there are not too many Photographers out there that feel the same, but for me the rain breathes romance and adventure. It gives us something different to work with… something a couple can call their own and it truly is a part of their story on the wedding day. As the drops of water pounced off my windshield on the way to meet Miranda on Saturday, I honestly didn’t think much of it. I hoped that Miranda and Nishant weren’t too concerned about the weather either. I really think that too many people get too concerned about the weather on their wedding day. It’s the one thing that none of us can control and it will be what it is! Just as I had hoped, upon seeing Miranda in the morning she really didn’t seem concerned. The thought of marrying Nishant and starting a life together with the man she can’t live without was so much bigger than the weather.

Listening to the vows that Nishant and Miranda spoke to each other during their ceremony gave me goosebumps! Nishant wrote their vows and they were straight from the heart. I’m getting goosebumps again for goodness sakes lol! Sure enough, just after the ceremony the rain tapered off for a while and with the exception of a few sprinkles here and there we managed to get outside for the majority of the pictures. Ruthven Park in Cayuga is gorgeous at this time of year with colour peaking out of the gardens everywhere. Miranda & Nishant’s ceremony took place at Ruthven inside the Coach House, and after we finished up with some pictures we headed out to the Grand Olympia in Stoney Creek for the reception.

Miranda and Nishant, what an awesome treat it was to be there for your wedding day on Saturday! The two of you together truly did give me goosebumps and I am so thankful for being able to share in your wedding day. Thank you for the beautiful experience and here is a preview of your pictures. Lots of love to you both…

Alexander (a.k.a. poopy pants)

It was so great to see to see our old friends Skinny and Neat today and meet their brand new bundle of joy, Alex. Little Alex is just over 3 weeks old now, but he was actually born 5 weeks early, so technically he is still supossed to be in Mommy`s tummy! I`m pretty sure that little Alexander broke a record for the number of pees and poops one baby has had during a shoot with me. Lets just say that I;m going to be duing a lot of laundry over the next 24 hours lol!

It was so great to see our good friends and Lucas so enjoyed having a little playmate this afternoon. Thanks for making the trip all the way out from Niagara Jay and Aneta and for giving me the honnour of taking Alex`s first `professional`pictures. He`s just perfect… even with all the stinky laundry he left behind lol! Enjoy this little peek and I`ll be touching base soon. All our love!

Kevin & Wendy ~ Engagement Session

Tracy will be shooting Kevin and Wendy’s wedding on August 28th of this year. They met up yesterday for the engagement session at Paletta Mansion in Burlington. Such a beautiful spot… and a beautiful couple. Check it out!

Melia & Isabella Turn 1

Katie and Paul brought Melia and Isabella to visit me yesterday to capture a few shots of them at the 1 year milestone! This is the third time I have been able to photograph these two little munchkins and this was definitely the most challenging of the 3 sessions. Little Melia and Isabella are on the move and are certainly not interested in sitting still for any longer than a second or two! I can’t believe their 1 already… how time flies with little ones!? Thanks Paul and Katie for bringing you little ladies to see me again. They are adorable and love watching their personalities grow. Here is a little peek!

Natalie & Stefane ~ E-Session

Chad met up with Natalie and Stefane on Monday to shoot their engagement session. Both Natalie and Stefan are teachers. I’m still trying to figure out how the managed to pull off an engagement session during the week, but I’m thinking it’s better if I just don’t ask any questions lol! Chad keeps talking about how excited he is to shoot this wedding because these two are so great and so much fun… even if Stefane is a Leaf’s fan (Chad’s a Flyer’s fan). The session took place at La Salle Park in Burlington and seeing as these two are teachers I think it is so fitting that they got a few shots on the playground there.

Fun-Filled Day of Love & Laughter

This post is going up a bit late, but better late than never they say On Saturday, Tracy photographed the beautiful Alicja and Damian on their wedding day in Hamilton. Photographs were taken at McMaster University and in the downtown core of Hamilton. What a great contrast of backdrops!! This absolutely gorgeous couple and their awesome wedding party made it a day full of fun and laughter. Tracy captured the day so beautifully. Here is just a peak at Damian & Alicja’s wedding on May 15th. The perfect day for a wedding and a group of people that were just amazing sports!
